California Prepares for Moon Month in July
12 June 2019
Museum of the Moon
In San Francisco, California, the Exploratorium is preparing a month-long celebration dedicated to the museum’s 50th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. The diverse lunar programming activities includes art installations, special public programming, and the Museum of the Moon: a 16-foot photorealistic sculpture of the moon featuring high-resolution NASA imagery.
On the official anniversary, 20 July 2019, the museum will host a special day of events, featuring talks by resident experts, hands-on workshops, screenings of NASA’s newly-restored footage of the 1969 landing, and a late-night dance party.
